Taylan King is thankful to be back in his home after a massive fire caused him and dozens of people at Chantham Village to evacuate.
“It was the biggest fire I‘ve ever seen in my entire life. Like that’s something you only see in the movies, and it was like real,” King said.
King is describing the flames that came out of the roof of the apartment building behind him Tuesday night.

Kettering firefighters suspect the fire started in a kitchen, but then grew quickly.
Luckily, no one was hurt, but the fire displaced 15 people from the apartment building, and 20 people living nearby had to have their power cut off.
“The Red Cross came to the office and helped everyone out ... we got to come back this morning,” King said.
Despite the heavy smell of smoke, King said the neighborhood will recover.
City officials are still working to learn the full extent of the damage the fire caused.
