As News Center 7 previously reported, USA Skate announced a new family would be taking over the rink just a few months after a viral video showed the owners denying service to a boy and his service dog.
The boy’s mother told News Center 7 the owners were discriminating against them.
The owner of the skating rink did post a response on Facebook soon after, saying they were “ill-prepared” and it was a “learning experience.”
USA Skate’s final weekend will be open for families.
Parents skate for free on Friday, and the new owners will meet customers on Saturday.
The rink will open under new management in August.
News Center 7 reached out to USA Skate’s new manager and has not heard back at the time of reporting.
We will continue to follow this story.
