Memorial Day: Celebrations around the Miami Valley

Several communities across the Miami Valley are having Memorial Day services.

Centerville is saluting the men and women in the military at 9 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Stubbs Park, 225 W. Spring Valley Road. The program includes color guard presentations, honor guards, band performances and opening remarks from the Mayor.

The Dayton VA is having a ceremony at 11 a.m.at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St.

Moraine is honoring veterans at 11 a.m. at the Moraine All Veterans Memorial in front of the Moraine Municipal Building, 4200 Dryden Road. Festivities include guest speakers, engraved bricks, and honoring all veterans present.

Springboro and Clearcreek Twp. are hosting a parade and service starting at 2 p.m. at Historic Springboro. There will also be a picnic at 3 p.m. that will be held in Springboro Intermediate School cafeteria, 705 S. Main St.
