GE experts to talk at Dayton 3D printing summit GE expects to grow the new additive business — also called 3D printing — to $1 billion by 2020 at attractive returns and also expects $3 to $5 billion of product cost-out across the company over the next 10 years.

Dayton is set to host an additive manufacturing summit at the end of the month.

The Additive Manufacutring Industry Summit will be hosted Sept. 21-22 at the Hope Hotel and Richard Holbrooke Conference Center.

The conference will be “primed to move 3D printing and additive manufacturing to new heights,” organizers said.

“The summit had an interesting mix of individuals attending — people from the medical sciences to equipment suppliers and legal knowledge,” said Tim Womer of TWWOMER & Associates, referencing a previous year’s summit.

Conference organizers said attendees will learn from the industry innovators, see new technologies actually producing parts and products, and explore education case studies and practical examples of 3D-printing use.

Speakers include experts from the University of Dayton, General Electric Co., Wright State University, Catepillar and Adjoint Technologies.

The general summit rate is $499, and includes all sessions, breakfast, lunch, snacks and a networking reception.
