BEAVERCREEK — The Mall at Fairfield Commons — which saw Designer Dogs gourmet hot dogs shut down in its food court earlier this month, and a Don Pablo's Mexican restaurant adjacent to the mall close its doors permanently earlier this week — has lost a third food-service retailer.
Dolce Mio, a frozen yogurt shop on the mall’s upper level, ceased operations earlier this week. Its signage and equipment have already been removed. A spokeswoman for the Beavercreek mall said Dolce Mio opened in June of 2014.
Also this week, the Logan’s Roadhouse restaurant near the Mall at Fairfield Commons shut its doors permanently.

While the restaurant and retail food-service segment is always volatile, four such closings in a relatively small geographical area in one month is rare.
But the area around the mall and adjacent retail centers along North Fairfield Road just south of Wright State University also has seen considerable retail growth the last few years, particularly in restaurants. BRAVO Cucina Italiano, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse and Chuy’s Tex Mex opened on mall property, and Primanti Bros. and IHOP are among the restaurants that opened along North Fairfield Road near the mall.
Along Colonel Glenn Highway just west of the mall, new Chipotle and Rapid Fired Pizza restaurants have opened in recent months, and Wandering Griffin brewpub and coffee shop is gearing up to open in a former Quaker Steak & Lube space.
