Officers told News Center 7’s Malik Patterson that an elderly man went to gas up his van. He misjudged the brakes for his gas pedal and jumped the curb.
Photos from the scene show damage to the front left side of the business.
The gas station manager told Patterson that the deep freezer is broken because of the crash.
The manager said that they are waiting for the insurance to check the damage.
They also told Patterson that the station “could lose some inventory” if it takes over a day.
Medics checked the driver. He was allowed to leave the scene in his van.
Part of the gas station parking lot will remain taped off until the repairs are made.
