Trotwood hosts ‘Undesign the Redline’ exhibit

Lasting Scars, Part 2: Fifty years later, Dayton remains segregated Redlining map of Dayton created by the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation in 1935. Red areas show parts of town deemed most at risk for bank loans because of factors including the racial makeup of who lived there.

TROTWOOD — The “Undesign the Redline” exhibit has come to Trotwood ahead of Black History Month.

This exhibit dives into structural racism, social issues and how communities were impacted by redlining — a practice that embedded segregation and inequality into city development.

The exhibit is on display at Trotwood-Madison City Schools central office building, 3594 Snyder Rd.

Here is the exhibit schedule:

  • Jan. 21, 25, 26: 1-4 p.m.
  • Jan. 27: 1- 7p.m.
  • Jan. 28: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
