MIAMI COUNTY — One person was detained after leading deputies on a lengthy pursuit through parts of Miami County Thursday afternoon.

The incident was first reported around 1:10 p.m. in Covington near Ohio 48 and Ohio 41. Deputies pulled over a pickup truck for a traffic violation, but the driver took off from the stop, according to investigators.

The suspect, only identified as a man, was reportedly suicidal and had a weapon, according to emergency scanner traffic.
The pursuit has came to a stop on Ohio 55 near Kessler-Frederick Road around 1:35 p.m. The man exited the truck and surrendered to deputies, investigators said.
Reports indicate the man was transported to an area hospital.
No injuries were reported and additional details were not released.
