PIQUA -- An 18-year-old man suspected of trying to rob another man, in what police believe was a drug-related incident, has turned himself in and is on his way to jail.

Blake Dunn , of Piqua, has been sought on a warrant as a result of the attempted armed robbery he's accused of committing Monday evening.

According to the Piqua Police Department, officers were dispatched about 6 p.m. Monday on a report of a male swimming in the river, north of the dam, because he was trying to escape from an attempt to rob him.

The victim told police he knew the gunman, who demanded he get into a vehicle, where he was threatened and asked for money. Police said they believe the incident is related to marijuana trafficking.

According to police, Dunn called police about 4:37 p.m. Tuesday, said he was at a local business and wanted to turn himself in. Police went to him and arrested him.

Police said Dunn told them he saw a social media post about the warrant for his arrest and that prompted him to turn himself in.
