Upon arrival, crews found an unit with smoke and an odor coming from it. When crews entered the apartment, they found that a fire had started in it, but had mostly burned itself out, according to Miami Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Glenn Jirka.
Jirka said the fire had done a “fair amount of damage to the apartment,” but it didn’t spread to any neighboring units.
The resident was not home at the time of the fire, but Jirka said they would be displaced due to the damage.
