A man was punched in the face at the Montgomery County Bark Park in Dayton Wednesday while attempting to restrain an aggressive dog, according to a Dayton police report.

The 56-year-old victim was at the park, 6790 Webster St., with his dog when the suspect and his dog came into the park around 5:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the suspect's dog immediately became aggressive with other dogs, according to the report. The victim held back the suspect's dog, which was left unattended, to prevent it from attacking other dogs. The suspect approached the victim and told him to release his dog and once he did, the suspect punched him in the victim in the face, the report said.

The suspect left with his dog after the assault. He left in teal Chevy pick-up truck, according to witnesses.

The victim declined medical attention.
