Man accused of sexually abusing 4 girls in Miamisburg set for trial

MIAMISBURG — The trial for a Miamisburg man accused of sexually abusing four girls is scheduled for trial Monday morning.

Scott E. Pate, 54, was indicted on 23 felony charges in April, including rape of a child younger than 10, gross sexual imposition of a victim younger than 13 and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

Four additional felony counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor were added to his case after a grand jury indicted him in May after it was learned he was accused of sexually abusing a fourth victim in 2004.

If convicted as charged, Pate would spend the rest of his life in prison.
