Firefighters battle house fire in Vandalia

VANDALIA — UPDATE: 8:30 p.m.

Old Springfield Road between Frost Road and Old Canal Road is closed and will remain closed for an extended time, according to a social media post from the Vandalia Police Department.

Emergency Scanner Traffic indicates that fire crews are still on scene working to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters are battling a house fire in Vandalia Sunday afternoon.

After 4 p.m., Vandalia police and fire crews responded to reports of a fire in the 5000 block of Old Springfield Road, a city dispatcher confirmed.

Emergency Scanner Traffic indicates crews on scene called for mutual aid.
