Another Thug Riders member learns punishment for organized crime charges

DAYTON — One member of the Thug Riders Motorcycle Club has learned his punishment for organized crime charges.

Matthew Hawkins was sentenced to three years in federal prison on Oct. 29, according to court records filed in the United States Southern District of Ohio court.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Hawkins pleaded guilty to one count of committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering in April.

Hawkins is one of 14 members of the Thug Riders motorcycle gang arrested last summer as part of a federal organized crime investigation.

The Department of Justice said the men are a part of an “outlaw motorcycle gang.”

Investigators claim the members and their associates engaged in crimes like murder, arson, assault, extortion, and identity fraud.

Several other members have either been sentenced or entered pleas. Some of those include Joseph Rader, Cody Hughes, and Brandon Fisher.
