Trotwood police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who passed a fraudulent check with a fake Ohio ID card.
A male entered the Trotwood Food Town on East Main Street at about 4 p.m. on March 28 and attempted to cash a fraudulent payroll check.
Just prior, another male had just cashed a similar check from the same company. When the clerk attempted to verify the authenticity of the account, both suspects fled, leaving behind the check and fake ID.
Both were seen getting into a green minivan.
The photo on the ID matched one of the suspects, but the information on the ID appears to be fake.
The suspect on the ID is described as medium to heavyset, about 200 pounds and 5 feet 7 inches tall.
