Attorneys completed their closing arguments, and the judge is expected to give instructions to the jury before they get the case for deliberations. It’s unclear if they will begin deliberations today.

Closing arguments are expected to begin Tuesday in the murder trial for Shawn D. Smith.
Smith is charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 13-month old Elijah Johnson last year. Prosecutors said Smith went looking for a man who robbed him and opened fire while the other man was holding the child.
UPDATE @ 11:12 a.m. (March 9)
The 13-month-old victim's mother testified in court this morning. She said her son briefly survived surgery, she told him "Mommy loves you Elijah" and he then died.
The deputy coroner also testified and said a gunshot wound to the chest is the cause of Elijah Johnson's death. The child was struck twice once in chest and in foot.

Both sides have given their opening arguments in the murder trial of Shawn D. Smith.
EARLIER REPORT
A jury was seated Wednesday in the murder trial of Shawn D. Smith.
Smith is accused in connection to the shooting death of 13-month-old Elijah Johnson in Dayton in January 2016.
After jury selection, the jury was visiting four sites Wednesday afternoon. Opening statements were expected in the courtroom of Judge Michael Krumholtz.
Two adults were also injured in gunfire, during an apparent drive-by shooting.
At the time, police said Elijah was being held by his mother’s boyfriend, Isaiah Smith, who was reportedly returning gunfire at the vehicle. Isaiah Smith was one of the two adults injured.
Isaiah Smith is also facing involuntary manslaughter charges in the case.
A third man, Dontay King, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter last May.
