The restaurant, located in the Oregon District at 416 E. 5th St., will not reopen until July 9, according to a statement released on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The employee who tested positive last worked at the diner on June 27. The worker is asymptomatic and is “doing well,” according to the post.
In the post, it was stated that anyone who visited the diner June 27 or later, could get tested if they have any concerns.

Employees were notified and scheduled for testing, according to the statement. The Dayton and Montgomery County Public Health Department was also notified.
“While the threat in my opinion is low, I will always choose people over profit and safety over risk. I am taking these steps out of my love and commitment to my employees, our guests and the Dayton community,” Guy Fragmin said on behalf of the diner.
The restaurant will reopen July 9 if all employee test results return negative.
416 Diner’s 3-year anniversary is July 7.
