Come have fun at the Yellow Springs Street Fair

YS SF

The Yellow Springs Street Fair is being held today until 5:00 p.m, with the music fest being held until 7:00 p.m., in downtown Yellow Springs, according to a release from Alexandra Scott - Street Fair Coordinator.

This event is free and open to the public, and is also pet free.

At this fair, there will be over 200 vendors who sell handmade arts and crafts, as well as a mixture of foods and a variety of shops and restaurants. There will also be two stages of music, a beer garden, and street performers.

One vendor is Time Capsule Posters by Rick Shoupe, who just started the business two weeks ago - with this being the first place he has done business at. A man had a print shop in West Carrollton many years ago who printed these posters and sold them for a few years, then stored them on shelves for the last 47 years. “That’s why we call it time capsule, so it’s just like opening a time capsule,” Shoupe said. “These things are just beautiful condition and amazing.” The posters run for $20 a piece, and since Shoupe works locally with a couple churches, he plans to donate the money to charity.

For help getting to the fair, a free shuttle service will run from Young's Dairy or Yellow Springs High School and be available until 7:00 p.m., or if you ride your bike, the free Bike Miami Valley valet service will be available at the corner of Dayton Street and Rt. 68. Additional parking is available in lots for donations, and handicapped parking is available at the Municipal Lot of Corry St.

The Street Fair is possible by the support of presenting sponsors such as Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center, and festival sponsors Wagner Subaru and Cresco Labs.
