Two towering pine trees fell near patrons near the 17th hole at Augusta National Golf Club and another tree fell as the storms moved through, according to the Associated Press.
No injuries were reported.
The course at Augusta National was cleared once for 21 minutes when the first round storms moved through earlier in the afternoon but the air horn sounded at 4:22 p.m. as another set of storms arrived, the AP reported.
As the horns sounded, two enormous pines fell near the 17th tee box and sent patrons in the area scattering for cover.
Workers arrived with chainsaws to being clearing the fallen trees, the AP said.
Brooks Koepka was leading at 12 under par when play was halted.
Holy smokes — this angle shows how absolutely miraculous it was that nobody got hit. pic.twitter.com/oAVf5rKmlP
