Preble, Darke County high schools advance in Ohio high school basketball playoffs

PREBLE COUNTY — Two high schools, one from Preble County and the other from Darke County, have advanced in the 2023 Ohio high school basketball playoffs.

Preble Shawnee won the Division III regional semifinal Wednesday night beating Miami East, 50-40, at Trent Arena in Kettering.

Coach Jake Turner told News Center 7′s James Brown he could not be more proud of his guys.

He said they are like family and love each other.

Turner adds there isn’t a selfish player on the team.

Preble Shawnee will play Canal Winchester Harvester Prep Saturday night at Trent Arena for a trip to the boys State Semifinals next week.

With a win, it would be the first time the Arrows make it to the State Final Four in school history.

The Tri-Village girls basketball team advance to the State Finals beating Berlin Hilliard, 51-34, in the Division IV state semifinals Thursday at UD Arena.

The Patriots will play Toledo Christian Saturday afternoon for the state championship at the UD Arena at 2 p.m.
