Dayton to host Girls Basketball State semifinals, finals this week

COLUMBUS/DAYTON — The City of Dayton will be hosting the 2023 Girls Basketball State semifinals and finals this week at the UD Arena.

The semifinals will take place Thursday and Friday while the finals happen all day Saturday.

The UD Arena hosted both the girls and boys basketball state championships in 2022 and will do it again in 2024.

The Division II and IV semifinals will take place Thursday and one area school in action.

Here are the match-ups:

  • Division II
    • Purcell Marian vs Bryan- Thursday at 11 a.m.
    • Northwest vs Fairland- Thursday at 1 p.m.
    • Division II State Championship- Saturday at 10:45 a.m.
  • Division IV
    • Toledo Christian vs Springfield Local High School (New Middletown), Thursday at 6 p.m.
    • Tri-Village vs Hilliard, Thursday at 8 p.m.
    • Division IV State Championship- Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tri-Village enters the state semifinals undefeated at 28-0.

The Division III and I semifinals are scheduled for Friday. Here are those match-ups:

  • Division III
    • Wheelersburg vs Africentric, Friday at 11 a.m.
    • Margaretta vs Chippewa, Friday at 1 p.m.
    • Division II State Championship- Saturday at 5:15 p.m.
  • Division I
    • Princeton vs Midview, Friday at 6 p.m.
    • Pickerington vs Olmstead Falls, Friday at 8 p.m.
    • Division I State Championship- Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
