United Dairy Farmers has bought the building that formerly housed Pizza Hut on East Whipp Road, according to a commercial real estate agent.

Montgomery County records show the property, located at 33 E. Whipp Road, sold for $725,000 on Friday. Cincinnati Capital Corp. acquired the property.

The Cincinnati-based convenience store and ice cream chain previously told this newspaper that they had plans for a project at Far Hills Avenue and Whipp Road north of Centerville.

Ryan Lee, zoning manager for Washington Twp., said UDF has not submitted any plans to the township yet. He said plans they submitted almost two years ago were held up by the sale of the former Pizza Hut building.

The company’s previous conceptual plan for the project included a store with a fuel station and a small office building. The land — which also houses a vacant former Sunoco station — would be razed, according to the former plans.

Requests for comment were not answered by a UDF spokeswoman.
