DETROIT — One person was killed and five others were hurt when gunfire erupted overnight at a banquet hall in Michigan, authorities said.
According to WDIV, the drive-by shooting occurred about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday as a group of people gathered outside Chalmers Banquet Hall in Detroit. Shots were fired from a passing vehicle, striking three men and three women, Detroit police said.
One victim, a man in his 30s, later died, WJBK reported. The five other victims were expected to survive their wounds, police said.
No further details, including descriptions of possible suspects and the vehicle involved, were immediately available.
