According to White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the President “has experienced no reemergence of symptoms, and continues to feel quite well.”

Biden, 79, will not have more treatment but will resume isolation after the “rebound case,” the White House said.

Biden will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and will remain in isolation for at least five days, The Associated Press reported.

The White House canceled Biden’s planned trip to his home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday, and a visit to Michigan on Tuesday, according to the AP.

The President confirmed his positive test in a tweet on Saturday.

“This happens with a small minority of folks,” Biden tweeted. “I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me.

“I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”

The President tested positive on an antigen test, The Washington Post reported. O’Connor said the President tested negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning before his positive test on Saturday. He stopped isolating on Wednesday, CNN reported.

Physicians have warned that many people who receive Paxlovid can experience “rebound” infections days after first testing negative, according to the Post.

Biden originally tested positive for COVID-19 on July 21 and experienced “very mild symptoms.” He is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots.

After his isolation period ended, Biden made a speech in the Rose Garden on Wednesday, the Post reported. He also made several public appearances this week in support of a $52 billion bill to subsidize computer chip manufacturing and research. Biden did not hold any public events on Friday, according to the newspaper.
