“I was like, where are the cameras! I for sure thought I was getting pranked, for sure,” said Grace Timmons, 23, of Seymour, who was visiting the park with friends. She became the coaster’s lucky rider at 7:01 p.m., a park spokesman said.

“I’m the happiest I could ever be, honestly,” she said.

Diamondback opened in 2009 and features a 230-foot first drop and 5,282 feet of track at speeds of up to 80 mph.

Timmons received Diamondback-themed gifts to commemorate the event.

Kings Island’s 50th Anniversary continues at the park until Labor Day weekend.
