The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is hosting in-person and virtual hiring event for Winter Seasonal Highway Technicians.
Participants typically work 40 hours per week, more for snow and ice events, and may work up to 1000 hours maximum, according to a news release from the ODOT.

The rate of pay is $18.59 an hour, according to the release.
Applicants applying for ODOT in-person should bring their driver’s license, social security card, and a resume to the hiring event. All applicants should prepare for an interview on the spot.
Applicants must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License and have three months training or experience operating basic equipment.

Applicants must also pass a physical ability test, as well as pass a background and pre-employment drug screen, according to the release.
The in person hiring event will be held on West First Street in Springfield next to Lowes on Sep. 2, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sep. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smith Drive in Clayton.
