Jasmine Richards was 9 months pregnant and experienced contractions all night the evening before the debut of the children’s play she directed.
But the show must go on.
‘It was so important for me to be able to see it because we had worked so hard,” she said of the play about the baby Jesus’ birth.
Luckily, her unborn son cut her a break.
“When the play started, my contractions went from back to back to spread out to like every 10 minutes,” she said.
Jasmine made it through the performance, even showing up at the curtain call before immediately heading to the hospital and giving birth to Gabriel.
“What better name would there be than the name of the angel that came and told Mary that she would give birth to the savior of the world,” said her husband, Shane.
