Maple tapping kicked off today at Greene County Parks and Trails’ Narrows Reserve Sugar Camp in Beavercreek.
Several methods of tapping are utilized, and the Narrows Reserve Sugar Shack is now set up for the coming season.
Last year, the weather was too frigid for much sap to flow, the parks employees said. But this year, the opposite problem may be an issue with warmer and more unstable temperatures.
