15-year-old bus helper indicted on sex crimes against four children

LOGAN COUNTY — The teen accused of sex crimes against a girl on a Benjamin Logan school bus last month is now facing additional charges involving other children, according to court records.

The 15-year-old was a bus helper at the time of at least one of the alleged incidents, school officials have said.

The teen is was indicted Tuesday on seven counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of rape, court records show.

The charges involve four different alleged victims, according to an indictment.

Two of the alleged victims in the case were 6-years old.  There also were alleged victims ages 17 and 8, according to the indictment.

It’s not clear whether all the alleged incidents happened on a school bus.

Benjamin Logan officials said that students are chosen for the bus helper position who are familiar with the bus routes to help when substitute drivers are behind the wheel, since none of Ben Logan’s buses are equipped with GPS capabilities.

The Logan County Prosecutor’s Office declined comment Wednesday.
