Brookville High School’s roof was blown off during the Memorial Day tornado outbreak. The district posted July 31 on its Facebook page that school would open on time.

The section of roof where the accident happened was damaged separate from the high school, and it has been repaired, Superintendent Timothy Hopkins said.

School opens on Thursday.

There were students in an area adjacent to the accident. They are part of a high school leadership group involved in some training. A call was made to all of their parents that afternoon alerting them to the accident and that all students were safe, Hopkins said.

He said the contractors reported the incident to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
