Warming centers open in Miami Valley

Warming centers are opening in the area due to frigid temperatures in the area.

The Springfield Soup Kitchen, located at 830 W. Main St., will be open Sunday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., according to the Springfield Soup Kitchen.

The building is open to those who are homeless or without heat and electricity, but all are welcome to use it.

The Farmersville Fire Department, located at 207 N. Elm St., also has a warming station available to those who need it.

A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for the entire Miami Valley beginning at Sunday at 6 p.m. until Monday at 12 p.m., according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Molly Coates.
