XENIA — Voters narrowly rejected a Xenia Twp. road levy that was on the May 2 ballot by five votes, according to recount conducted by the Greene County Board of Elections.
The final vote on the levy was 448 “no” and 443 “yes.” The board re-certified the final results prior to the township recount.
Voters in the township also decided a tax levy request for fire service, which was approved 461 to 426.
Both were 3.5 mill levies for five years and 3. mills. Each would cost homeowners $122.50 more a year per $100,000 in property value.
Each would have raised an additional $561,742 per year for the township.
