CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — Deputies are investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle that happened Wednesday morning east of Urbana in Champaign County.
Dallas Matthew Bowles, 50, of Urbana was identified as the motorcyclist killed in the crash in the 8500 block of East U.S. 36 around 6 a.m. Wednesday, Champaign County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Eric Holmes said in a media release.

Bowles was driving east on U.S. 36 when the crashed into a Honda car that was pulling out of a driveway, Holmes said. Bowles was taken to Mercy Urbana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, who was not identified, was not injured in the crash.
It was not known if any charges or citations were being pursued in the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
