Trooper shoots hoops, brightens child’s day in Troy neighborhood

TROY — A State Highway Patrol Trooper made the day for a kid and neighbors in Miami County over Labor Day weekend.

Neighbors say Trooper Darriontea Stewart shot a few “hoops” with a child in the 2500 block of Inverness Court in Troy.

A neighbor, Jason Ferris, said he took the photos quickly to not interrupt the dialogue between Trooper Stewart and the child.

Jason said, “I believe our children need that interaction with law enforcement now days.”
