RIVERSIDE — Today marks the one-year anniversary of when Cheryl Coker’s remains were found in Greene County.

Coker was a missing riverside mother who disappeared back in October of 2018 after dropping her daughter off at school.

After a few months, Riverside Police changed the case to a homicide investigation and named her husband, Bill Coker as their suspect.

Police never arrested him or charged him criminally.

Last April mushroom hunter found Cheryl Coker’s remains in rural Greene County.

An autopsy report suggested “homicidal violence’' played a factor in her death, however, the medical examiners could not determine an exact cause of death.

“This is still an active BCI investigation with no additional details to share at this point,” the Bureau of Criminal Investigations told News Center 7 Friday.
