HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County will operate sobriety checkpoints in Harrison Township this evening.
The checkpoints will be held on state Route 48 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

State law requires OVI checkpoint times and locations to be announced in advance.
Federal funds will be used to pay for the OVI checkpoint, which is intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The goals of the sobriety checkpoint are to provide public awareness of the consequences of driving under the influence, reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadways, reduce the number of alcohol-related traffic crashes, and make the roadways a safer place to travel.
