Stolen U-Haul crashes into pole in Springfield; Deputies searching for male suspect

SPRINGFIELD — One person suspected of stealing a U-Haul in Springfield is on the run, while another is in custody after a crash Wednesday.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office located the U-Haul that was reported stolen off of Leffel Lane late Wednesday morning.

After a short pursuit of the truck, it crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Cedar and Light Streets, according to deputies on scene.

Two suspects, a male and female, jumped out of the truck after the crash and ran from the scene. Deputies were able to take the female suspect into custody, but they’re still looking for the male.

It’s currently unknown if anyone was injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
