SIDNEY — The Dollar General store located on the corner of W. Russell Road and St. Mary’s Avenue is closed due to a fire that damaged the front end Sunday afternoon.
Around noon, merchandise displayed on the outside storefront caught fire, damaging the front end of the property, fire officials told News Center 7's Steve Baker.

The estimated amount of damage is unknown.
Five employees and three customers evacuated the building without incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
