Shoppers respond to Dayton Mall Sears closing

News Center 7's Malik Perkins was there Sunday with how shoppers responded to the closing.

Shoppers are excited about the deals, and one man even loaded up his pick-up truck.

“New air conditioner, 90 percent off, and two mattresses for 90 percent off,” said Mark Calhoun of Miami Twp. “For this whole truck load, $180.”

Calhoun says the deals he found are unbelievable, but he’s worried about the future of the Dayton mall.

“How long are they going to be here? It kind of reminds me of the Salem Mall.”

Other shoppers think something else will come into this space and do well.

“I’d like to see it made more into an entertainment-type atmosphere. People still want to go out for entertainment,” said William Franer of Miami Twp.
