UPDATE @ 2:33 p.m.
Miamisburg police and FBI say there are areas of the park they have not yet covered and will return Thursday to search some more for missing Miamisburg woman Chelsey Coe.
UPDATE @ 9:05 a.m.: A Miamisburg woman may have been at the Greene County park in June 2017 about the same time police believe she disappeared, Sgt. Jeff Muncy said.
PREVIOUS REPORT: Law enforcement search for missing woman in Sugarcreek MetroPark
Evidence involving Chelsey Coe perhaps being at Sugarcreek MetroPark at that time led federal, state and local law enforcement to close the 618-acre park and search it Tuesday and Wednesday, Muncy said.
"There's nothing concrete that says she's here," he said Wednesday. "This is just one lead we're investigating and we're trying to do it thoroughly to find her."
Muncy said information leads police to believe the park may have been one of the last places Coe was seen.
If authorities find nothing today, the search at the park will end, the sergeant said.
Police continue to have a person of interest in Coe’s disappearance, but investigators have not disclosed details about the person.
UPDATE @ 6:20 a.m. (July 11):
Multiple law enforcement vehicles, mostly unmarked, entered Sugarcreek MetroPark in Greene County on Wednesday morning as a search in the disappearance of Chelsey Coe enters a second day.
FBI investigators were also briefly observed outside the park before entering, according to our news crews.
We’ll continue to update this page as new details become available.
FIRST REPORT (July 10)
A search involving several law enforcement agencies at the Sugarcreek MetroPark in the disappearance of Chelsey Coe is to resume Wednesday morning.
A sign placed at the park’s entrance Wednesday morning indicated the park will again be closed to the public through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Investigators with the FBI, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Miamisburg police were in the park Tuesday, looking for evidence related to Coe’s whereabouts, officials said Tuesday. Cadaver dogs were also on scene.
This week’s search is the latest in Miamisburg police investigation into Coe’s 2017 disappearance. On May 1, police raided Coe’s last-known address, on Lower Miamisburg Road, and performed excavation work at the property.
Investigators did not provide an update Tuesday evening, at the end of the first day’s search.
