Police: Robber jumps counter, attacks worker at Domino’s in Springfield

An employee was attacked by a robber wearing body armor at a Domino’s Pizza, according to an incident report.

Springfield police officers responded to the pizza shop, 1756 S. Limestone St., around 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

“The unknown suspect jumped on the counter demanding the money in the register,” an incident report read. “He then jumped down behind the counter threatening to shoot the employees if they did not listen ... then struck (the victim) in the back of the head with the ... gun knocking him to the ground.”

The robber was described as a male, 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and was wearing a green military top and bottoms. He also had on body armor, the report shows.

The robber also was wearing tan boots, a ski mask and hood that revealed only his eyes. Witnesses also said he had a tattoo under his left eye.

The worker who was attacked suffered a cut to the back of his head and was taken to a hospital.

The robber got away with an undetermined amount of money from the register, according to the report.
