MIDDLETOWN — If anyone drives in Middletown, they now know it is the hometown of Vice President J.D. Vance.

The first sign honoring the vice president was unveiled Thursday, according to a social media post.
As previously reported by News Center 7, the signs will read, “Hometown of J.D. Vance, 50th Vice President of the United States of America.”

The City of Middletown posted videos on its Facebook page Thursday.
It showed crews putting the sign at the Westbound State Route 73 entrance into Middletown.
The signs will be installed at six other locations:
- On eastbound Central Ave. at Carmody Blvd. (entering from Madison Township)
- On southbound Ohio 4 at Germantown Road (near the airport)
- On westbound Ohio 122 near Bob Evans (coming from I-75)
- On northbound Ohio 4 at the south city limits near Lafayette Avenue
- On northbound S. Main Street at the city limits (coming from Oxford-State Rd.)
- Cincinnati-Dayton Road northbound at the south city limits (coming from Monroe)
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at one of the sign locations is expected to happen in the weeks following the inauguration.
