UPDATE: South Ludlow Street closed after dumpster fire is put out

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:10 PM:

Ludlow Street is closed between 5th and 6th Street after fire crews put out a dumpster fire.

Crew on scene say they think the fire may have been gas fed but are unsure how the fire started.

Vectren is on scene to shut off the gas.

The building by the dumpster is vacant and being renovated.

The fire remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT:

Fire crews are working on a commercial fire reported on S Ludlow Street and High Street.

Initial information indicated the fire was occurring at a four story building under renovation and the fire is being gas fed.

Scanner traffic indicated they were evacuating the building.
