CAMDEN — UPDATE @ 1:45 p.m.:

Preble Shawnee schools dismissed early Tuesday following an investigation into a social media threat, a district spokesperson said in a message posted on their website.

“While law enforcement and district officials are still investigating the origin of the social media threat, it was determined that it is safe to release our students to their families and homes,” the post said.

In addition all evening activities were cancelled.

FIRST REPORT:

A threat has prompted Preble Shawnee Local Schools to lockdown until further notice, according to a message on the district’s website.

“All Preble Shawnee Schools are on lockdown, meaning no one is permitted to enter or leave the facility until further notice,” the post said. “Everyone is safe in the building.”

According to the district, the threat was made by someone from outside of our school on the Jr./Sr. high school.

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and News Center 7 has reached out to the sheriff’s office for more details on the threat.
