Local law enforcement to attend funeral of fallen Bluffton officer

VANDALIA — A local law enforcement association is asking for crews to attend the funeral of a fallen Bluffton officer Friday.

Bluffton Officer Dominic Francis was struck by a car and killed while deploying stop sticks during a pursuit Thursday, March 31.

The Montgomery County Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Association released a plan on social media for Miami Valley law enforcement agencies to attend Francis’ funeral to show their support.

They plan to meet at the Dayton Airport Expo Center parking lot in Vandalia at 7 a.m. Friday and make their way to Francis’ funeral in Bluffton.

The funeral will be held at Bluffton University at 11 a.m. at the Sommer Center on campus.
