TRENDING STORIES:

Anderson was dancing with excitement after getting the key to her new home.

“I worked so hard and I finally got it,” Anderson said.

Anderson’s dream of being a homeowner started when her sister built her home from the ground up. That was when Anderson decided she wanted a place for herself and her son.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton requires all of their future homebuyers to attend homeownership courses and volunteer a minimum of 275 sweat equity hours before purchasing the home.

“I feel like my persistence paid off,” Anderson said.

Anderson, after all her hard work, says she’s looking forward to enjoying two things in her new house.

“Peace and relaxation,” Anderson said.
