UPDATE: Fire that sent plume of smoke visible for miles damages vacant home, firefighters say

TROTWOOD — Smoke was visible for miles after a fire broke out in a house near state Route 49 in Trotwood Friday morning.

The fire was reported near the 500 block of Olive Road just before 10:30 a.m. Dispatchers had previously told News Center 7 the fire was on Hoover Avenue, however the address was later updated to Olive Road.

TRENDING STORIES:

Firefighters told News Center 7’s Taylor Robertson the house is vacant and no one was inside and no injuries were reported.

Damage to the house is visible, however an estimate was not immediately known.

The fire produced a large plume of smoke that was visible for miles and on our Storm Center 7 weather cameras.
