Icy conditions lead to falls, other weather-related injuries

MIAMI VALLEY — Icy conditions impacted the Miami Valley throughout the morning Thursday and local hospitals are treating people for weather-related injuries.

Premier Health said they’ve treated 10 people for fall injuries at Miami Valley Hospital’s campuses. Five people have been treated for injuries related to falls and weather-related crashes at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.

Kettering Health Network said they’ve treated two people for fall related injuries. Kettering Health also said they’ve treated eight people for injuries from crashes since the freezing rain started falling.

Mercy Health has treated 10 people for weather-related injuries at Springfield Regional Medical Center.  At Mercy’s Urbana Hospital, four people have been treated for falls.

We’re working to learn whether any people were treated at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
