“We got a great opportunity here to serve, so we hope we can make a positive impact in doing so,” Daniels said.
He said he heard about the storm Sunday morning.
“My wife actually messaged me and said, ‘Hey, this happened last night. You should send something out.’ So I sent a message to the players probably around 9 o’clock saying, ‘Hey, if you’re available, go help out,” Daniels said.
Football player AJ Brian said it felt good to help.
“It’s a big part of what we build, like our core values on so for the team, just going out and serving our community and helping in any way we can,” Brian said. “It’s great to just make somebody happy, and they went through like a hard time; it’s good to bring it back to normal.”
On Monday, Clark County crews picked up most of the damaged trees and branches.
Landscapers brought in heavy machines to clear the roads.
The EMA said it will work with non-profit agencies that want to come out and help clean up the mess.
“We’ll continue serving in any way we can. We talk about using our gifts that God’s given us in a way to impact others, and this is a great way. We’ve got a bunch of strong young guys that have some abilities,” Daniels said.
