UPDATE @ 6:55 p.m.: The house fire on Fernwald Drive caused damage estimated at more than $100,000 and destroyed four vehicles in the attached garage, said Deputy Chief Scott Dorsten, Beavercreek Twp. Fire Department.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury and one civilian was evaluated at the scene but did not require a trip to a hospital, Dorsten said.
He said the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation. Flames burned through the home's roof and destroyed the garage in addition to the vehicles.
Crews were dispatched on a report of a garage fire, Dorsten said, and the flames extended into the attic of the house.
Crews from Kettering and Sugarcreek Twp. assisted Beavercreek Twp. firefighters, the deputy chief said.
The residents will have to stay elsewhere because of the damage to the structure and its contents, which Dorsten estimated at $150,000 to $175,000 -- not including the vehicles.
UPDATE @ 4:28 p.m.:
No one was injured in the fire, the Beavercreek Twp. fire marshal said.
UPDATE @ 4:10 p.m.:
Flames have broken through the roof of a ranch-style home on Fernwald Drive.
There is heavy damage to the home. The garage and about half the house appear to have been destroyed.

A fire has been reported on Fernwald Drive this afternoon.
Initial reports indicated a garage was fully engulfed at the house in the 3900 block of Fernwald around 3:40 p.m.
